We used to spend the occasion at my Grandmother's house together with my kins. We used to have dinner together, a program we worked hard on to prepare, with presentations, games and prizes, and kris kringles (exchange gifts with each other). It was a lot of fun.
Then each year, one by one my cousins started leaving home for college. And I didn't get to seen them most of the times. And it started to changed a bit, the Christmas at home. Then it came, my time to leave home for college, and Christmas changed a bit. I wasn't able to help put up the Christmas tree in our living room. But it was still there when I got home for Christmas. It still had the ornaments that my family spent time to put on it. And I was happy to see it light up at night.
And six years has passed from that time, everything started to change a lot. And when I got home, there was an empty space in our house where once stood a colorful, lively Christmas tree. Then it hit, Christmas would never be the same again. Yes, we still had our family dinner, we still spent our time with my kins, but there were no longer the programs, the treats, and the fun games we used to had. Everybody seemed to grow up so fast, became busier and cared lesser to the time we used to shared together..

A Thousand Words Tangled

My deepest feelings,
Ripped apart by lack of serenity,
Lost in the arms of unknown beings,
Waiting for the bittersweet feeling of clarity
